Town of Sackville

Municipality

The town’s previous website was slow, out-of-date, and didn’t reflect the fun, cosmopolitan feel of this small community. Staff had long outgrown the limitations of their CMS, and wished to integrate new features like an eCommerce system to offer residents online registration for summer programs, kids camps, concerts and events.

We were happy to help.

In collaboration with The Details Design & Branding, we built a responsive WordPress website that addresses the needs of the city’s three major audiences: tourists, residents and prospective businesses.

Working with Sackville staff to understand their workflow allowed us to build bespoke content tools to update bylaws, council meeting minutes, and community news, and address other day-to-day needs. The website’s WordPress back-end is highly customized for easy internal management, with the building blocks for future expansion as the town’s needs grow.

Community Calendar

The most popular feature on this tight-knit community’s website is the Community Calendar, listing everything from Learn to Run classes, to road construction, kids playgrounds, concerts and university events. Visitors can browse and search the fully-featured calendar with multiple views, and adding events is as easy as editing a Word document. Community members can also submit their own events to the calendar; town staff simply have to review the information and click “approve” to post it.

Google Analytics & SEO

From catchy taglines to custom meta snippets for Google searchers, we made the most of every word on the website and wrote snippets to help Sackville's pages rank highly in search engines. We also created a customized Measurement Plan and reporting tools to measure visitor interaction with the website, understand how different segments of visitors behave, and give town staff data to help drive more traffic and improve engagement.

Community Directory

Sackville is small but mighty, and the diversity of its businesses, organizations, church groups and more is reflected in the new Community Directory. Groups can submit their own listing via a web-based form, and website visitors can instantly sort by category or “theme.” Automating the submission process means staff can spend more time working for their community, and less time in front of their computers.

Responsive website development

We build web experiences that help clients connect with their audiences. Turn clicks into customers with a smart, evidence-based approach to website development.
